The Challenge
Voter participation data is often presented in dense reports or fragmented statistics, making it difficult for general audiences to quickly understand trends and their broader implications.
The goal of this project was to:
- Simplify multi-year voter turnout data
- Highlight key shifts between presidential and midterm elections
- Present information in a way that is both informative and visually engaging
Approach
I approached this project through an editorial lens, combining data visualization with structured storytelling to guide the viewer through key insights.
Key design decisions included:
- Using clean, high-contrast charts to highlight year-over-year differences
- Structuring the layout to move from data → insight → implication
- Incorporating supporting callouts and summaries to reinforce key takeaways
- Maintaining a minimal, professional visual style to increase credibility
The design balances clarity with visual hierarchy, ensuring the audience can quickly grasp both the data and its significance.
Deliverables
- Voter participation infographic (2020–2024)
